Holocaust Memorial Day Service.

A very proud moment for Ormiston Denes Academy when some of our Year 9 students performed Suitcase 1938, at Lowestoft Train Stationn, as part of the Holocaust Memorial Day Service. This marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The train station is important as it was one of the places that received hundreds of Jewish refugees in 1938 in the kindertransport programme. It was very moving to see our students recreating what it must have been like for these refugees.

So many people came and congratulated the students, Alice Taylor Mayor of Lowestoft, Peter Aldous MP, members of Lowestoft Town Councill, an ex student Christopher Brooks, and many other members of the public.

Well done everyone, we are so proud of you all!
