Bags of Help is Tesco’s local community grant scheme where the money raised from the 5p carrier bag levy in Tesco stores is being used to fund thousands of community projects across the UK. The projects must meet the criteria of promoting community participation in the development and use of outdoor spaces.
Ormiston Denes Academy’s project Room to Grow, in partnership with Groundwork Suffolk, was successfully shortlisted and is now available for in-store voting. If successful, we will be able to secure funding to cover the costs of delivering another horticultural project here at the academy. The aim of the gardening project will be on improving the well-being and achievement of students experiencing emotional, social or behavioural difficulties, and will deliver regular horticultural sessions.
The project will also offer the opportunity to involve students in the continued development of the grounds at the academy, improving the environment to the benefit of all, whilst building the confidence of the participating students.
Each time you shop, please ask for a blue token at the checkout so that you are able to vote for our project. Your purchase can be of any monetary value, and there is no need to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.
You may vote for our project at any of the following Tesco stores:
Thank you for your support.
