Tesco Bags of Help – Please vote for us!

Room to Grow Gardening Project in partnership with Groundwork Suffolk        Groundwork Tesco Bags of Help logo Sept 2017 Groundwork logo Sept 2017

Bags of Help is Tesco’s local community grant scheme where the money raised from the 5p bag levy in Tesco stores is being used to fund thousands of community projects across the UK. The projects must meet the criteria of promoting community participation in the development and use of outdoor spaces.

Ormiston Denes’ project was successfully shortlisted and is now available for in-store voting. If successful, we will be able to secure funding to cover the costs of delivering another Horticultural project here at the academy. The aim of the gardening project will be on improving the well-being and achievement of students experiencing emotional, social or behavioural difficulties, and will deliver regular horticultural sessions.

The project will also offer the opportunity to involve students in the continued development of the grounds at the academy, improving the environment to the benefit of all, whilst building the confidence of the participating students.
